ABOUT

Inspiration

Since moving to Cornwall from Bristol in 2001; I saw the beauty of Cornwall, especially the coastline from the rugged coast to the North to the Southside, where I live. I enjoy taking seascape and also landscape, which we have so much of in Cornwall.

Over the years so many people have commented on my images, especially after seeing the 4 canvases I have hanging in my apartment. It was the encouragement from these people, that made me want to do more and take my photography to the next level.

After completing 2 interior design degrees from 2010 – 2016 and also the 7th operation for Crohn’s Disease and several further stays in hospital, I signed up on 3 Adult Education photography course at Liskeard in 2019 and also updated my camera and equipment.

What I wanted to achieve was to move away from the ‘A’ (automatic) setting to learn how to take photos to a professional standard and gain more confidence in my work, which I have. I still enjoy seascape and landscape photography but my specific interest is with Macro Photography, with a keen interest in experimenting with water droplets and splash photography.

Work

Why? I have found for me that it has helped with health and wellbeing, the enjoyment of the planning and execution of taking an image or just coming across that rare opportunity and capturing it with my lens.

But for me the things I missed so much when out and about, was the fact that I couldn’t hear what was going on in the environment around me due to my hearing loss. I have now had a Cochlear Implant operation, which has changed the way I can hear for the good; I'd forgotten how noisy birds could be, until now.

I have also had my 1st photography exhibition in 2019 with Creative Forces who are part of Help for Heroes in Ocean Studios, Royal William Yard Plymouth. This was an exhibition for veterans including dignitary. Photography has changed things for me in such a positive way, and I have found a new passion that I enjoy exploring very much.

I have had guidance and help from a professional photographer who suggested that I should start using Flickr to display my images and interact with others, which I have and now hence this website.

Hope you enjoy and feel free to email me if you have any questions.
